The Idea

A neighborhood room with the volume turned up

Cosa Fai means "what are you doing", the question that starts every good evening. The answer we are building in Santa Clara: a warm, low-lit Italian room with a marble bar at its center, sage and caramel throughout, and a sound level that makes the last course take an hour.

Dinner is Italian and unfussy. Pasta finished in the wheel, fish and steak off the grill, vegetables that taste like the season. The bar keeps its own hours and its own crowd.

The Bar

Italian at the core, classic in the glass

A long marble bar sits at the center of the room, with brass, backlit bottles and greenery overhead. An Italian-led wine list poured by the glass, a shelf of amari and vermouth, negronis and spritzes built properly, and a short list of our own drinks that changes with the seasons.

Come for a full dinner or come for one drink and a plate of focaccia at the bar. Both are the point.
